# refresh

Reload the document of this browsing context and wait until the new document has loaded. Other tabs and frames are not reloaded. A frame reloads only its own document and keeps its browsing context, so the object you hold stays usable.

## Usage[](#usage "Direct link to Usage")

```
const context = await browser.url('https://webdriver.io')
await context.refresh()
```

## Example[](#example "Direct link to Example")

refresh.js

```
it('reloads one frame', async () => {
    const page = await browser.url('https://the-internet.herokuapp.com/nested_frames')
    const bottom = await page.frame({ selector: 'frame[name="frame-bottom"]' })
    await bottom.refresh()
    console.log(await bottom.$('body').getText()) // outputs: "BOTTOM", the frame is still usable
})
```
